Swimming Pools

Thousands of Idahoans swim each year in public swimming pools. Pools that are not properly operated and well maintained can create a risk to the public’s health due to safety and/or bacterial and chemical water quality problems. It is necessary public swimming pools be licensed, inspected and the water tested to insure the public that these pools are safe and healthy. The role of the district health department’s is to make sure these pools are operated in such a manner as to minimize the number of accidents and spread of communicable diseases.
