Idaho to Receive $92,662 in Medicaid Settlement
The State of Idaho will receive $92,662 from a legal
settlement with FORBA Holdings, the management company for Small Smiles
Dental Clinics, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said.

Idaho Collects $64,000 in Antitrust Settlement with TriCor Makers
The State of Idaho will be reimbursed $64,637.74 that the state paid in
overcharges for the cholesterol drug TriCor, Attorney General Lawrence
Wasden said. Wasden joined 25 attorneys general in a $22.5 million
settlement with Abbott Laboratories, Fournier Industrie et Sante and
Laboratories Fournier, S.A. The settlement resolves antitrust claims
involving TriCor and provides reimbursement for government purchases of
the drug.

Michael M. Davisson Sentenced for Insurance Fraud
Michael M. Davisson, 32, of Meridian was sentenced Tuesday
for the felony crime of insurance fraud. Fourth District Judge Richard
Greenwood sentenced Davisson to 3 to 7 years in prison and a $2,000
fine. The court suspended the prison term and the fine and ordered
Davisson to pay restitution and serve 60 days in jail and 5 years
probation.

Idahoans to get Refunds from New Jersey Mortgage Modifier
Idaho homeowners who paid a Westmont, New Jersey, company to help them
obtain mortgage modifications will receive refunds as a result of a
settlement agreement, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. The
agreement with Best Interest Rate Mortgage Company LLC requires the loan
modification company to pay $19,710 to 12 Idaho consumers and to stop
operating in the state. Consumers should receive their refunds from the
Attorney General’s Office before June 15, 2010.

Settlement Gains Refunds for Idaho - Mortgage
Modification Victims
Twelve Idaho homeowners who paid a Meridian man, Paul Clarence
Aughtry, IV, for mortgage loan modifications will receive refunds
totaling $12,400 as a result of settlement agreements with Attorney
General Lawrence Wasden and the Idaho Department of Finance. As a result
of the actions, Aughtry is prohibited from engaging in loan modification
activities in Idaho.

Pamela Lambert Sentenced for Petit Theft
Former Emmett Assistant City Clerk Pamela Lambert, was
sentenced for petit theft, a misdemeanor, Attorney General
Lawrence Wasden said. Magistrate Tyler Smith sentenced Lambert to 90
days in jail and ordered her to pay a $1,000 fine. Lambert was also
ordered to pay $4,524 in restitution. The court suspended the jail
sentence and fine. Read

Idaho Joins in Second Vitamin Price-Fixing Settlement
A legal settlement with a group of vitamin manufacturers
will result in refunds for Idaho businesses that were indirect
purchasers of vitamins, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. Wasden joined with 21 other states in a $25 million settlement involving
a vitamin price-fixing conspiracy. The settlement is on behalf of
consumers and businesses that purchased certain vitamins between 1988
and 2000 and reside in Idaho or any of the settling states. Today’s
settlement, which is subject to court approval, follows a $225 million
settlement reached in 2000 involving different vitamin manufacturers.

Idaho Receives $114,826 in Medicaid Fraud Settlement
The State of Idaho, Division of Medicaid, received $114,826 from a
settlement reached with Aventis Pharmaceutical, Inc., Attorney General
Lawrence Wasden said. The settlement resolves allegations that Aventis
knowingly misreported the lowest prices for nasal sprays Azmacort,
Nasacort and Nasacort AQ.

Wasden Reaches Settlement with VONAGE
Idahoans who experienced difficulties cancelling their
VONAGE Voice over Internet Protocol service may be eligible for refunds
as part of a $3 million multistate settlement, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. The settlement with VONAGE also requires the company
to make significant changes to its marketing practices, honor consumer
cancellation requests and provide refunds to eligible consumers.

Debt Relief Coming for Some Silver State Helicopters Students
36 Idaho students of a bankrupt helicopter training school will receive
nearly $1.5 million in debt relief from student loans as a result of a
legal settlement, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said. Students who
borrowed from Student Loan Xpress and were enrolled at Silver State
Helicopters at the time the school shut down will receive the benefits
of the settlement negotiated by Wasden’s Consumer Protection Division.
